Terms & Conditions – Catz at Ashwood

At Catz at Ashwood, we are committed to providing the highest standards of care and professionalism. Please read the following terms carefully, as they govern the conditions under which we accept cats into our care.

General Care and Liability

While every reasonable effort is made to ensure the safety and well-being of all cats in our care, you acknowledge and accept that all animals are boarded at the owner’s risk. Catz at Ashwood will not be held liable for any illness, injury, death, loss or damage unless caused by proven negligence on our part.

We reserve the right to refuse admission or remove any pet that poses a threat to the safety of staff, other animals, or itself.

Owner Responsibility on Premises

While on the cattery premises, cats remain the responsibility of their owners. Catz at Ashwood does not accept liability for any loss or escape of a cat during drop-off or pick-up.

Veterinary Treatment and Health Emergencies

In the event that veterinary care is required, Catz at Ashwood is authorised to seek professional treatment at our discretion. All veterinary costs incurred will be the responsibility of the owner. We will make every reasonable effort to contact you or your nominated emergency contact before proceeding, unless urgent intervention is required.

By boarding your cat with us, you accept this policy and agree to cover all related costs.

Vaccination, Flea, and Worming Requirements

All cats must have a current vaccination certificate, clearly stating protection against feline enteritis, rhinotracheitis, and calicivirus. This certificate must cover the full boarding period. Failure to provide up-to-date documentation may result in refusal of entry or removal from the premises at the owner’s expense.

Worming and flea control must be current. We recommend the use of Advantage or Frontline prior to arrival. If parasites are detected, your cat will be treated and you will be charged accordingly.

Boarding Fees, Deposits, and Holiday Bookings

Boarding is charged at the full daily rate starting on the day of arrival and including every subsequent day, excluding the day of departure.

  • A 50% deposit is required for stays longer than 21 days.
  • For bookings between 10 December and 20 January, a 7-day minimum charge applies. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your holiday booking. No discounts apply during this peak period.
  • We reserve the right to charge for the entire booking period even if your cat is collected earlier or dropped off later than originally arranged.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations made within 7 days of the booking start date may incur a charge of 50% of the total booking fee. Refunds or credits will not be issued for early collection or late drop-off.

Operating Hours

We have set opening hours which must be observed. These can be viewed here. Access outside of these hours is by prior arrangement only, and a fee may apply.

Neutering Policy

All cats over the age of 8 months must be neutered or spayed to be accepted for boarding.

Uncollected Pets

If a pet remains uncollected 30 days after the agreed collection date, and we have received no communication from the owner or their agent, Catz at Ashwood reserves the right to make suitable arrangements at the owner’s expense. This may include rehoming. Every reasonable effort will be made to contact you before this occurs.

Payment Terms and Conditions

Unless a prior agreement has been made with management, full payment is due at collection or before.

If payment is not received within 10 days and no payment plan has been agreed, the following will apply:

  • A $25 administration fee will be added to the account.
  • Interest will accrue on the unpaid balance at a rate of 3% per month, calculated daily.
  • Unpaid accounts referred to collection services will incur all associated recovery costs, which will be payable by the customer.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Catz at Ashwood, its staff, and agents from any liability, claims, costs, or damages arising from your pet’s behaviour, health condition, or failure to comply with these terms.

Right to Amend Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions and our prices at any time, without prior notice.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
