Helping Your Cat Settle In – Trial Visits Welcome
We know that some cats take time to adjust to new environments, which is why we welcome trial visits before a longer stay. A short introductory visit helps your cat become familiar with our cattery, easing any anxiety and ensuring they feel comfortable when they return for an extended stay.
By the time their longer stay begins, they’ll already know Catz at Ashwood as a safe, fun, and relaxing retreat—just like a vacation for them, while you enjoy yours!
Christmas Stays – Holiday Reservations & Policies
During the Christmas season, we require a minimum stay of seven days between December 20th and January 6th. A deposit is required to secure holiday reservations, with the remaining balance due upon pickup. Please note that deposits are non-refundable during this busy period.
Vaccination Requirements
All cats staying in the main part of our boarding cattery, whether as short-term or long-term guests, are required to be vaccinated for the following:
Calicivirus
Rhinotracheitis (snuffles)
Feline Enteritis
Potional Chlamydia (feline aids) optional – we strongly recommend you speak to your vet regarding this.
All cats must have had vaccinations within the last 12 months, but not less than 7 days before entering the cattery.
All vaccinations are to be valid for the length of stay.
Food
The cats are fed twice a day, first thing in the morning and again in the early evening. The morning meal is left with them for approximately an hour before being cleared away and the evening meal is left with them overnight, so they can graze. We feed Royal Canin Fit 32 which is a premium quality dry food with no fillers or artificial ingredients and is the same brand of food we feed our own cats.
Speciality Diets
If you want to bring your cat’s favourite food or if they are on a special diet, please do so. We can even cater for raw diets as we have a refrigerator in the cattery kitchen.
You must supply the speciality food/diet.
There is no extra charge for feeding special diets.
Shy Cats
In the case of shy cats, we will do our very best to encourage them to come out of their room and find a nice place to spend their day in the cattery. We have found that by waiting until the evening and giving them time out when everyone else is away, we can often coax shy cats to come out and explore and this usually enables them to happily come out during the day. We will never drag or in anyway force a cat to come out of their room if they don’t want to, as this will be very stressful for them.
Visiting
If while your cat(s) is staying with us, you would like to visit, or if you have family and/or friends who would like to visit, no appointment is necessary, we only ask that you come during our open hours.
You can find directions by clicking here.
Unvaccinated Cats
We do take a small number of unvaccinated cats. They are housed in our Isolation room, which is completely separate to the main cattery (this is for their health and safety). There is an additional charge to take advantage of this service.
We do not take unvaccinated cats over the Christmas Period – 20th Dec until 10th Jan
Cleaning
Our cattery is cleaned daily to a very high standard to guarantee the safety and well-being of all our guests.
All floors, surfaces, water, food and litter bowls are serialised using a professional Cleaner and Sanitiser which kills animal viruses and bacteria to a very high efficacy. This kills, Canine parvovirus, canine distemper, feline leukemia, corona virus, equine influenza A, salmonella, e-coli, streptococcus, HIV-1 (aids virus), hepatitis B virus(HBV), Herpes 1 and 2, legionella pneumophila, enterobacter aerogenes, enterococcus faecium, staphylococcus, listeria monocytogenes, infectious peritonititis, avian influenza, and most viruses, bacteria and fungi.
